Matriarchal Lineage
The matriarch of the Adams' Family is Mary Elouise Hatley-Adams. She was born in Absanie, Maddocha to Johnnie Ray and Dixie Mae Hatley on July 20, 1918.
As a child, Mary loved to comb hair. Her mother was constantly reprimanding her for using the family hair-grooming products to comb her dolls' hair. As Mary grew older, she began doing family and friends hair. Mary could work wonders with hair.
Dixie saw that her child was gifted to do her, she enrolled her in the Absanie Beauty School. Mary became on of the most popular students at the beauty school. After graduating, Mary became a beautician at the Dez and Daz Beauty salon in Absanie. Mary became one of the most popular beauticians at the salon.
In 1937, Themophilis and a friend, Bill, were in Absanie to see a movie. Bill met a young lady and began to talk to her. Bill introduced the young lady to Themophilis. Themophilis asked her who had done her hair. The young lady told him about Mary. Themophilis remarked, "I would like to met the girl that can work magic with hair like that."
The rest is romantic history.
In 1954, with the help of Tobias Jonas, Themophilis built a beauty salon for his wife called Mary's Place. Mary's Place soon became one of the most popular places in Dorinda. Mary still owns and operates the original salon that she opened in 1954. She also has five other locations in Absanie, Dorinda, and Hardaway. Mary still does hair today and she keeps up with the latest styles.
